These juicy and aromatic lamb koftas will be a new barbecuing day favorite! They are at our table at least. Perfect family and child-friendly meal that will leave everyone longing for a trip abroad.
I serve these koftas with Garlic Naan as I find it more flavourful than pita bread, grilled aubergines and corn, Watermelon Greek Salad and tangy Tzatziki.
It is simply an amazing mouthful of flavors!
- 2 small – medium onions
- 1 small bunch of parsley
- 1 small bunch of mint leaves only
- 750 g minced lamb (can be replaced with minced beef)
- 50 g toasted pine nuts
- 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1½ tsp ground allspice
- ½ tsp grated nutmeg
- 1½ tsp black pepper
- 1½ tsp salt
- Oil to grease
Add onions and spices to a food processor and pulse until roughly chopped
Add the pine nuts and herbs to the mixture in the food processor and pulse until blended
Add the paste with the meat and mix until thoroughly combined.
Shape around skewers, into patties or meatballs, cover and chill for at least an hour.
Prepare the barbecue or frying pad with some oil. Cook the kebabs until golden brown on all sides, and cooked through to your liking.
Serve with pita breads, grilled aubergines and a tangy tzatzik.
